Why XSkills exists
Bookmarks are good at preserving attention and poor at creating capability. A valuable workflow can sit beside news, opinions, product launches, and half-remembered ideas for months. Copying the post directly into an agent creates a different problem: compressed social writing often omits the constraints that make a process safe and repeatable.
XSkills treats the gap as compilation. It qualifies the source, researches missing context, records evidence, produces a target-specific package, and asks for approval before anything is installed.
A supervised workflow compiler
“Supervised” means automation prepares the work while a person controls the trust decision. “Workflow compiler” means the output is not a summary: it is a structured Agent Skill with triggers, instructions, guardrails, sources, evaluations, a manifest, and a verifiable checksum.
Designed for multiple coding agents
XSkills currently produces native packages for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Claude Code is the primary example throughout the public guides; Codex and Cursor remain first-class delivery targets with their own install roots and package validation.
